New Year's Eve bingo cards
The evening of 31 December is long, and midnight is a late target for children and tired adults alike. A few rounds of bingo break up the wait. This set is built from the countdown, the party and the first morning of January.

The preview is scaled to fit your screen and prints at full size, one sheet of paper per page of cards. In the print dialog choose your printer or Save as PDF, and set scale to 100%. Nothing you type leaves this browser.
Making the evening go faster
- Spread the rounds through the night: one after dinner, one at ten and a full-card round that starts about twenty minutes before the countdown. Each new round can use the same printed cards.
- Try a watch-and-mark game instead of a caller. Players cross off a square when it happens in the room, such as a yawn, a toast or someone phoning home. Leave the call sheet off for this version.
- Party poppers' leftover confetti, foil stars or wrapped chocolates are fitting markers. With pens, print a second set under a new shuffle code for the later rounds.
- Hosting families with small children? Hold an early countdown at eight o'clock, play the three by three grid just before it, and let the winner start the pretend midnight cheer.
- Good prizes for this night cost nothing: choosing the next song, the first sparkler, or the right to make a resolution on behalf of someone else at the table.

Questions
What do you do at a New Year's Eve party with kids?
Short games with breaks between them work better than one long activity. Bingo fits because a round can be five minutes on the small grid or twenty on the large one, and it needs only paper and something to mark with.
Can adults and children use the same cards?
Yes. The words are everyday party vocabulary with nothing aimed only at grown-ups. Adults who want their own version can add lines such as the name of a guest who always falls asleep before twelve.
How do I deal fresh cards for a second round?
Type a different shuffle code or press New set, then print again. The same word list is arranged differently on each card, so winners of round one get no advantage.
Do I need the call sheet?
Only for a called game. It prints after the cards and lists every word once, ready to cut into slips. For a watch-and-mark game, untick it and save the paper.
